Itinerary

First day (Cabanaconde – Llahuar)

Pick up from your accommodation (3:30 am)

We pick up all participants from their hotels. Our pickup area covers the center of Arequipa, Bajo selva alegría and Yanahuara.

Breakfast in Chivay (7:00 am)

After 3 and a half hours of leaving Arequipa, we make a stop at a restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast normally includes scrambled eggs, bread, oatmeal, coffee, butter and jam.

Condor Cross (8:00 a.m.)

La Cruz del Condor is a viewpoint next to the canyon, where it is very likely to see condors fly. In this place we will be around 40 minutes.

Cabanaconde (9:00 a.m.)

Cabanconde is a small town inside the Colca from where we will go down to the canyon. We will walk around 4 hours until we reach Llahuar lodge.

Llahuar lodge (1:00 p.m.)

Arriving at Llahuar we will have lunch, enjoy the landscapes and spend the night. It is possible to coordinate with the guide to take a little extra walk during the afternoon or go to the river to fish if conditions allow it.

Second day (Llahuar – Sangalle)

Breakfast in Llahuar (6:30 am)

We have breakfast very early in Llahuar, however if you don’t eat breakfast that early you can order breakfast to go.

Departure to Sangalle (7:30 a.m.)

We leave for Sangalle walking along the right bank of the canyon. This walk lasts about 4 hours and we will be able to see abundant captus called “tuna” that have an edible sweet fruit.

Arrival in Sangalle (11:30 a.m.)

Upon arrival in Sangalle you can enjoy the pools of the lodge. In this place there is a small bar where you can buy drinks of your choice. We will eat at the lodge and rest to be ready for the last day, which is the most difficult part of the tour.

Third day (Sangalle – Cabanaconde)

Departure to Cabanaconde (5:00 a.m.)

We will leave early in the direction of Cabanaconde. This part of the walk is only uphill and is therefore considered difficult. This walk lasts about 3 hours and you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise.

Breakfast in Cabanaconde (8:30 a.m.)

When we are all up in Cabanaconde, we will walk about 15 minutes to the town for breakfast.

Lunch in Chivay (11:00 a.m.)

Our vehicle will pick us up at the Plaza de Cabanconde and we will return to Arequipa, making a stop in Chivay for lunch. The restaurant we visited offers a delicious Peruvian buffet, but there are other options as well.

Return to Arequipa (1:00 p.m.)

We will return directly to Arequipa and on the way we will be able to enjoy beautiful views and it is very likely to see camelids such as Alpacas and vicuñas. We will be in Arequipa around 5:00 p.m.
